When you want to experience nature, the joy and the excitement of angling there is no place as versatile as Guldborgsund County. With the short distances to the water you will easily be able to find a good fishing spot.

Perch, roach, pike, and river trout are some of the fish you will be able to catch in lakes and streams. Along the shores it is mostly trout, flatfish, cod and rainbow trout – and garfish in May. Coastal fishing is something special and the long beaches with their two sand bars invite you to go far out to get a rise.

In the summertime the garfish go further out into the Baltic and it is also out at sea on the deep, cool waters that you will find the largest cod.

As an angler you will find many possibilities whether you want to fish off the coast, stand on a bridge or pier at deep water, sail out in a row boat – or throw out the line in a quiet lake or stream.

If you want to optimize your chances then go to sea on a tour boat – e.g. from Gedser – and enjoy the captain’s knowledge of the best fishing spots. Or take the whole family to a put & take lake and have a fun time with great oportunities of making a good catch.
