| When you arrive in Gedser – only 15 minutes’ ride from Marielyst – you quickly discover that the most sourthernly town of Denmark is marked by its harbours. For generations the ferry service to Germany here has belonged to the most important communications of the country and today Scandlines sail between Gedser and Rostock. By choosing this exact ferry service you may save many kilometres’ car ride, e.g. when the journey takes you to – and from Berlin.
On the fishing port of the town there is daily activity – and many people come here to buy fresh fish from the Baltic for the dinner table. You can also try luck yourself on board the fishing vessel M/S Amigo which is especially designed for sailing with passengers and which goes out on daily trips with anglers if the weather permits. A fun and safe way to go fishing – for children, too – among other things with a prize competition for the largest catch of the month. It is also possible to go on a seal trip to Rødsand.
In the north western part you will find the yachting harbour. A modern marina with room for ca 200 yachts. The harbour is a popular aim for many yachtsmen with its many facilities – and ideal location close to the Marielyst area. | | |
