Nature tempts you with its beaches and forests.
When you go out to experience nature you will be able to look far. The landscape is markedly flat, there is a lot of farmland but also several green areas and forests. At the same time you are all the time reminded that you are on ”Sydhavsøerne” (The Southern Isles), because the water is never far away and there are many excellent beaches which really invite you to enjoy life. You may walk in beautiful forests among other places just outside Nykøbing F and next to Bøtø beach south of Marielyst, with its kilometres of white, sandy beaches and the Bøtø forest in the south.
The entire Marielyst area is a true pearl of nature which may make anyone breathe in deeply – and forget their busy every-day lives. Further north the forest at Halskov Vænge near Horbelev offers cromlechs, grave mounds, and other interesting finds. If you would like to experience idyllic wetlands, Borremosen – close to Tingsted and Nykøbing F – is also an interesting place to visit. |
