| Take the bus – it is easy The busses from the new bus company, Movia, provide good connections to and from Guldborgsund County as well as in all directions in the local area. The junction is the station in Nykøbing F where it is easy to find busses which run to all towns and villages on Lolland and Falster. In this way busses come and go several times per hour to and from the Marielyst area e.g. the route between Nykøbing F and Gedser. They stop in the Marielyst area among other places at Lupinvej, Kjørups Kro, and Marielyst Torv (the town square). Busses from nykøbing F also go via Stovby Ringvej and Laksenborgvej to Sildestrup, Elkenøre, and Ulslev further north – and then again back to Nykøbing F via Idestrup. Take the train – it is straight foreward DSB has an excellent train service to and from the train station in Nykøbing F. There are hourly services to Sealand and Copenhagen with departures at 20 minutes past every hour all day long. The local train, Lollandsbanen, goes to among other towns Sakskøbing, Maribo, and Nakskov – most frequently with departures at 25 minutes past every hour. All international trains, which are taken across the Baltic via Rødbyhavn, will also stop in Nykøbing F. This also applies to the EuroCity connection between Hamburg and Copenhagen. Get across the Baltic with the ferries in Gedser and Rødbyhavn From Nykøbing F it is only about 25 minutes’ ride – and from Marielyst about 15 minutes - to the ferry service in Gedser with 6-7 departures a day to Rostock. The duration is 1 hour and 45 minutes – and compared to the many saved miles behind the wheel this makes the connection by far the fastest way to e.g. Berlin. It also takes less than 1 hour to go to Rødbyhavn from where the ferries sail for Puttgarden 48 times per 24 hours with a duration of only 45 minutes. In Puttgarden you quickly move on via Europe motorway E47 which is part of the well-known ”Fugleflugtslinien” (the beeline). With their popular Border Shops both ferry services give you the possibility of saving a lot of money compared to Danish prices when it comes to e.g. beer, wine, liquour, chocolate, sweets, etc. | |  | |
